We support shared core facilities to enhance collaborations and further research in kidney-related research, foster interactions among kidney researchers from different backgrounds and disciplines, and provide intellectual resources and infrastructure to attract new and established investigators.

The UAB-UCSD O'Brien Center is made up of two Biomedical Resource Cores and a Resource Develoment Core with the goals of providing gold standard services in the area of kidney disease to enhance research foster collaborations.

Pilot Program

Apply for pilot funding

The Pilot and Feasibility Grants program is designed to fund science that can expand the impact of the O’Brien Consortium with a focus on supporting early-stage investigators, especially those under-represented in the medical sciences and mid-career and senior investigators new to kidney research.
